This is a great start! I like that you used Wikipedia. You need to give more specific instructions about how to determine the validity of the information. Do what I did in the Wikipedia assignment. Focus on a specific claim and have students verify the claim. Have the read the discussion going on behind the page so the can get a handle on what information is controversial. Once you help them identify a specific claim provide students with other sites that contradict or support the claim. Then have lead them through the process of identifying bias of those sites! I like that you included a question about media literacy by having students attend to the images they see on the site. I also like the idea of having students watch a YouTube video and identifying quotes they like. However for the purpose of this assignment I would have them identify claims and verify those claims. You also need to provide a driving questions. Something controversial like is President Obama an American Citizen? Hope this helps!
