Your digital story made me think about..... What it was like during the real civil war. Why do people chose to relive the war, while most who were in it want to forget about it?
One thing you might think about changing is..... Is adding music to the beginning of your video (before the commentary comes on). Maybe you should add some patriotic music, since it's about civil war reenactments.
The best thing about your digital story is...... The still life pictures you had, and the use of black and white and color pictures.
I really enjoyed learning about civil war reenactment! You found wonderful images to move your story along! Here a few suggestions.
The most important part of your story is at the end where your friend tells why civil war reenactment is an important part of his life. We need to make this part more central to your story. Here is how I think you should do that:
Begin the story with a quote from your friend that make a connection between his involvement in civil war enactment and his heighten sense of belonging. Then for about 30 seconds play the period music and show images of the civil war.
Then transition to the part of the interview where your friend is talking about the importance of civil war enactment in his life. Show the images of him involved in the civil ware enactment. No music. Just your friend narrating.
Then end with another quote about the importance of civil war enactment.
I really think you are on the brink of having a powerful digital story about a topic many people know very little about!
I have a few friends that are very passionate about civil war reenactment! My favorite part is when the narrator says, "this has brought me closer to my father and I hope it does the same with my sons." Very moving!
I think it is very interesting to hear what a day is like in the life of a civil war reenactor. I think that some music at the beginning and end of your story would really enhance it.
I found this digital story very intersting and informative. Great Job. I agree with Harmony I think that some music at the beginning and the end of the story would really give it an more emotional feel. But overall great job.
Hi Amy! Your video is private. You need to share it with me so I can view it!
